LEGO's foray into video games began nearly 31 years ago with LEGO Fun to Build on the SEGA Pico. Since then, games built around these colorful Danish bricks and their iconic minifigures have blossomed into a genre unto themselves, largely thanks to Traveller's Tales' addictive blend of action-platforming and the countless pop culture properties they've LEGO-fied.

10. LEGO Island

No LEGO game list is complete without the 1997 PC classic, LEGO Island. While its graphics might seem dated, the fun and nostalgia remain. Stop an escaped convict determined to destroy LEGO Island, brick by brick! Multiple character classes and a surprisingly open world for its time make for a charming and engaging adventure. It might be hard to find now, but it's worth the hunt – just watch out for the Brickster!
9. LEGO The Lord of the Rings

LEGO The Lord of the Rings cleverly uses audio clips from the films, creating a uniquely silly yet respectful experience. Witness Boromir's dramatic death scene punctuated by banana explosions! The game boasts a large roster, including book characters like Tom Bombadil, along with plenty of puzzles and action. It's a LEGO game to rule them all… well, almost.

8. LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

Surprisingly successful in adapting a less family-friendly franchise, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures playfully reimagines the first three films. Gameplay improved upon the earlier LEGO Star Wars games, focusing more on puzzles and exploration. Local co-op makes this a timeless classic.

A unique twist on the LEGO formula, LEGO DC Super-Villains lets you play as the bad guys! The game successfully makes these DC villains endearing and kid-friendly. The inclusion of a customizable character adds a creative layer, complementing the licensed characters.

The first LEGO game with an open world, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes lets you explore Gotham City. While later open worlds might be better, the charm of LEGO Gotham is undeniable. A vast improvement over the original, it offers a stellar roster of DC characters, from Batman to General Zod.
