A charming new game, Cato: Buttered Cat, is on its way to Android! The name itself is a clever combination of "cat" and "toast," perfectly reflecting the game's unique premise.
Ever wondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat's back? The developers of Cato: Buttered Cat did, and the result is a delightful, gravity-defying spectacle of perpetual spinning!
Originally a 2022 BOOOM Gamejam entry by Team Woll, the positive reception led to the development of a full game. Currently available on Steam for PC, Cato: Buttered Cat is soon heading to Android and other platforms. While the Google Play Store listing isn't live yet, you can pre-register via the official TapTap page for the Android version.
Gameplay in Cato: Buttered Cat
This puzzle platformer features a cat and a piece of buttered toast as co-stars. Players control both to solve puzzles, battle enemies, and explore whimsical worlds.
The game boasts five distinct worlds filled with quirky contraptions and 200 levels, including side quests. A captivating storyline unfolds piecemeal throughout the levels, complemented by 30 unique outfits for the cat.
The interaction between the cat and toast is a highlight. The cat uses its agility, while the toast serves as a controllable projectile, launching the cat to otherwise inaccessible areas.
