Ubisoft Mainz has unveiled exciting new details about Anno 1800: Pax Romana in a recently released trailer. While previous announcements highlighted exploration of Lazio and Albion, the trailer suggests Lazio serves as a prologue before the main game unfolds in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts as a peaceful region, but a catastrophic event forces players to seek refuge and opportunity in the unexplored lands of Britain (Albion). Albion presents a stark contrast to Lazio, characterized by a harsh climate, rebellious tribes, and its geographical distance from Rome, posing significant challenges to governance.
Players take on the role of a governor, tasked with overcoming these obstacles through diplomacy as well as military might. Respecting local customs and traditions is key to establishing harmony. A unique feature is the ability to customize your ships, strategically choosing between increased speed via oarsmen or enhanced firepower with onboard archery turrets.
Anno 1800: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
