Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil "Avatar: Seven Havens," a brand-new animated series celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved franchise. Created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the original series' masterminds, "Seven Havens" will be a 26-episode, 2D animated adventure.
This new chapter introduces a young Earthbender, the Avatar succeeding Korra, in a world ravaged by a catastrophic event. The press release describes a perilous setting where the Avatar's title is a harbinger of doom, not salvation. Hunted by both human and spirit foes, the young Avatar and their long-lost twin must unravel their mysterious past to safeguard the Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.
DiMartino and Konietzko shared their excitement, stating, "The creation of the original series never anticipated this continued expansion of the world decades later. This new Avatarverse installment is brimming with fantasy, mystery, and a captivating new ensemble of characters."
"Avatar: Seven Havens" will follow a two-season format: a 13-episode Book 1 and a 13-episode Book 2. Executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi join DiMartino and Konietzko in bringing this story to life. Casting details remain undisclosed.
This marks the inaugural mainline television series from Avatar Studios, who are also producing a feature-length animated film centered on Aang, slated for theatrical release on January 30, 2026, showcasing an older Aang embarking on a fresh adventure.
The 20th-anniversary festivities extend beyond "Seven Havens," encompassing a diverse range of merchandise, including new books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a Roblox game.
