Coen, cursed with silver poisoning, strives to save his family. However, the game emphasizes player agency within a "narrative sandbox," offering numerous paths to achieve the central goal. Nonlinear gameplay and player choices dynamically shape the world.

To maintain the immersive single-player experience, multiplayer and co-op modes are absent. However, romanceable characters—including various races like uriashi and kobolds—will accompany Coen on his journey.

Developed by Rebel Wolves—a studio featuring former CD Projekt Red developers who worked on The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077—The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A release date is yet to be announced.
