Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still in development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

Warzone's recent issues follow a challenging year for developer Raven Software, marked by server outages, cheating reports, and persistent bugs. The latest problem, reported on January 6th, involves freezes and crashes during the loading process.

Although the root cause remains unaddressed (as of the Trello bug tracker), Raven Software acted swiftly. A January 9th Twitter announcement confirmed the temporary suspension of Skill Rating (SR) penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses player concerns about unjust penalties stemming from the glitch. Penalties for mid-match disconnections remain in effect.

This interim measure provides some relief, though the underlying bug persists even after a major January 2025 update. The ongoing issues highlight the challenges faced by the development team in maintaining a stable and fair gaming experience. Players eagerly await a complete resolution to these persistent problems. The image placements remain unchanged.
