The Chainsaw Man movie, first announced in December 2023, is a direct sequel to the MAPPA-produced anime that debuted in 2022. It continues the story of Denji, a young man who, after a life-altering deal with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita, gains the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws. This power propels him into a world far beyond his previous existence as a simple Chainsaw Man.
The film, titled Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, introduces a new character, Reze, who plays a significant role in the original manga. Directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and written by Hiroshi Seko, the movie brings back the entire voice cast from the anime series to reprise their roles, ensuring continuity and familiarity for fans.
