Champion Cards Guide for Marvel Contest of Champions

Author : Isaac Update:Apr 12,2025

Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC) isn't just a mobile game; it also boasts an arcade version available at Dave & Buster's, offering a unique twist on the action-packed experience. This arcade setup allows two players to engage in thrilling 3v3 battles, with victory determined by the best of three rounds. What makes it even more exciting is that after each match, both players are rewarded with a Champion Card—a physical collectible featuring various Marvel heroes or villains from the game.

These Champion Cards are not just collectibles; they can be scanned into the arcade machine to select specific champions before a match. With two series released so far, there are over 175 cards available, including standard and foil variants. Whether you're aiming to enhance your battles or complete your collection, here's all you need to know about MCoC Champion Cards.

What Are Champion Cards?

Champion Cards are physical trading cards dispensed from Marvel Contest of Champions arcade machines at Dave & Buster's. Each card represents a different character from the game and can be used to select champions for your arcade battles. Without scanning any cards, the machine will randomly assign champions for you.

Each card showcases a specific Marvel character from MCoC and comes with a foil variant, akin to other collectible arcade cards from games like Mario Kart Arcade GP and Injustice Arcade. The first series introduced 75 different champions, while the second series expanded the collection to 100 cards.

After each match, the machine dispenses a Champion Card for each player, regardless of the match outcome. Winning doesn't influence which card you receive, ensuring an equal chance for everyone to get a specific champion. The cards are drawn from one of the two existing series: Series 1 with 75 champions and Series 2 with an expanded 100 champions. Each card also has a rarer, more collectible foil variant.

While Champion Cards aren't necessary to play the arcade game, they add a strategic and customizable element. Instead of leaving your champions to chance, you can scan your favorite cards to gain an edge in battles. Although these cards don't transfer to the mobile version of MCoC, they enhance the arcade experience and appeal to collectors. Champion Card Rarity and Collectibility

Much like traditional trading cards, MCoC Champion Cards hold a special allure for collectors. While they all serve the same function in the arcade game, many players aim to collect the entire set, especially the coveted foil versions. The second series brought new designs while retaining many characters from the first series, resulting in multiple styles for some cards.

The total list of available cards includes:

  • Series 1 (2019): 75 champion cards featuring classic MCoC characters.
  • Series 2 (later release): 100 cards, including reskinned versions of Series 1 and additional characters.
  • Foil variants: Special, rarer versions of standard cards that are more valuable to collectors.

Some players strive to complete the full set, while others focus on collecting cards of their favorite Marvel characters or the more elusive foil cards. Since the only way to acquire them is by playing at Dave & Buster's, these cards have become a unique, exclusive collectible for Marvel fans.

If you prefer building your champion roster digitally, consider playing the main MCoC game on PC with BlueStacks, where you can train, upgrade, and battle with your favorite characters without needing an arcade visit!

Where to Get Marvel Contest of Champions Champion Cards

Currently, these cards are exclusively available at Dave & Buster's locations with the Marvel Contest of Champions arcade cabinet. They cannot be purchased from the in-game store or earned through the mobile version of MCoC.

If you’re looking to collect them all, your best bet is to:

  • Play the arcade machine as often as possible to obtain new cards.
  • Meet with other players and trade cards to complete your collection.
  • Check online marketplaces where some collectors might sell their extra cards.

Since new series may be released in the future, keeping an eye on Dave & Buster's arcade updates can help you stay ahead in your collecting journey.

Marvel Contest of Champions Champion Cards add a tangible collectible element to the arcade experience, making it even more engaging for players. Whether you're scanning them for in-game use or collecting them as a Marvel fan, these cards offer a distinctive way to interact with MCoC beyond the mobile app.
