Where To Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Following the March 2025 update, you can discover Essence Stones hidden inside chests scattered throughout the mines of *Fields of Mistria*. My first encounter with these stones was during a quest to gather offering items needed to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60. However, be on the lookout for chests on any level across the various biomes and floors. Beware of mimic enemies that mimic chests and can harm you upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but with diligent exploration, you can uncover the larger variants. If you're struggling to find them, consider crafting them once you've built the Stone Refinery in the mines.

How To Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery is your go-to spot for crafting Essence Stones in *Fields of Mistria*. This feature was added as part of a new story quest in the March 2025 update, where you'll work alongside characters Adeline, Olric, and Errol to build it from scratch within the mines.

To construct the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once your refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of varying sizes using Stone and Essence. The amount of materials required depends on the size of the stone you're crafting. Check out the table below for the crafting requirements:

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery also allows you to craft an assortment of common materials, as well as more exotic items like Refined Stone, Obsidian, and Diamond. This makes it a valuable hub for sourcing materials needed for various projects and builds throughout Mistria.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update brought the much-anticipated auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which rely on Essence Stones to function. Larger stones provide a longer charge duration, making Large Essence Stones the most efficient choice for extended use.

The auto-petter mechanic is facilitated by the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. When powered by an Essence Stone, this statue will automatically pet all animals inside each day. You can find this statue in a hidden cave next to Errol's house in the Narrows, accessible with the Dragon's Breath spell. Additional statues can be crafted once the item is unlocked.

For the sprinkler mechanic, utilize the Water Sprite Statue, which can be placed anywhere on your farm to automatically water crops within a 2-tile radius when an Essence Stone is in use. You can craft multiple statues to cover larger farming areas. Locate the original statue and its crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, past the Lighthouse area. Access it by swimming and using Dragon's Breath on the entrance.
