Crunchyroll has enriched its Android vault with the addition of Kardboard Kings, a captivating single-player management game that immerses players in the life of a card shop owner. What’s the Deal in Kardboard Kings?
In Kardboard Kings, you step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, a young man who inherits a card shop from his father—a renowned card collector and a former champion of the legendary game, Warlock. As Harry, you navigate the exciting world of card trading, buying, and selling. By your side is Giuseppe, a savvy cockatoo with an uncanny ability to spot lucrative deals. Together, you manage the shop situated in a picturesque seaside setting, striving to satisfy every customer or, if you're feeling cheeky, even swindle them for a bit more profit. The game is filled with charming, sarcastic characters and references to other card games and anime, featuring over 100 unique card designs, each with quirky illustrations and shiny variants.
What’s the Gameplay Like?
The gameplay begins with the basic principle of buying low and selling high to generate profits. As you delve deeper into the game, the dynamics become more complex with varying card conditions and set rarities. Factors such as foil finish, card abilities, and popularity significantly impact a card's value. Kardboard Kings also introduces a roguelite deckbuilding mode on Card Game Island, where you can challenge formidable duelists, organize tournaments, host booster pack parties, or conduct clearance sales to manage your inventory effectively.
