Crusader Kings III Chapter IV: Expanding Horizons with Mongols and Asia

Paradox Interactive has unveiled an exciting roadmap for Crusader Kings III's Chapter IV, set to roll out throughout 2025 with a strong focus on expanding the game's Asian content. This chapter promises to introduce new mechanics and regions, enriching the gameplay experience for fans of the grand strategy title.

The journey begins with the recently released cosmetic DLC, Crowns of the World. This stylish pack, though small, adds a touch of personalization with six crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, allowing players to tailor their rulers' appearances to their liking.

Mark your calendars for April 28, as the first major DLC, Khans of the Steppe, will make its debut. This expansion lets players take the reins of the Mongols, leading a nomadic horde as the Great Khan. You'll have the chance to conquer lands and assert dominance over neighboring territories, adding a thrilling new dimension to your gameplay.

Next up, in Q3 (July–September), the Coronations DLC will introduce a ceremonial mechanic that allows players to legitimize their reign through grand coronation events. These ceremonies will involve hosting lavish festivities, making solemn vows, and charting the course of your kingdom. Additionally, new advisor and vassal events will enhance political interactions, adding depth to royal succession and governance.

The chapter will culminate with the release of All Under Heaven, a massive expansion set to arrive later in the year. This expansion will feature a comprehensive East Asian map, including detailed representations of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian islands. Players will have vast new territories to explore and conquer, opening up a wealth of new strategic possibilities.

In addition to these exciting DLCs, Paradox Interactive will continue to refine the game with patches aimed at improving game systems and AI behavior. The developers are keen on incorporating player feedback to shape future updates, with the next Q&A session scheduled for March 26. This ongoing dialogue ensures that Crusader Kings III remains a dynamic and evolving experience for its community.
