In the latest financial report from Thunderful Group, which has experienced multiple rounds of layoffs, an intriguing update about the game Replaced has surfaced. The report indicates that the much-anticipated cyberpunk platformer will now be released in 2026, marking yet another delay for the title.
Originally, Sad Cat Studios announced that Replaced would be released in 2022, but it was subsequently postponed to 2023 and then to 2024. In a previous statement, the developers cited the game's development as a "unique challenge" and pushed the release to 2025. Despite these setbacks, the studio remains dedicated to delivering a high-quality product, fueled by the significant attention and high expectations from the gaming community.
Replaced was first unveiled to the public in 2021 during Microsoft's showcase at the now-discontinued E3 event. Since then, the developers have kept the community engaged by sharing periodic updates. This summer, for instance, Sad Cat Studios released combat footage and introduced a new mini-game to keep fans excited about the project.
As of now, Sad Cat has not issued a statement regarding the latest delay to 2026, but they continue to communicate with their audience about the progress of Replaced.
