Destiny 2 Weekly Reset: New Nightfall, Challenges, and Rewards

Updated December 24, 2024: Another week dawns in the world of Destiny 2, bringing with it a fresh batch of missions, challenges, and rewards. While the game currently sits between major acts, the ongoing narrative includes concerns about its player count. This isn't unprecedented, but current issues like bugs, controversies, and general gameplay concerns make this situation feel particularly significant.

For now, however, Destiny 2's The Dawning event continues, offering players a final chance to bake cookies and reap the rewards. While most of the event remains familiar, Bungie has added a community challenge to boost the drop rate of three rare emblems. They even revealed the impressive number of cookies baked for Commander Zavala—well over 3 million at the time of the announcement!

Weekly Nightfall and Modifiers

Nightfall Strike: The Inverted Spire

Advanced Modifiers:

Champions: Barrier and Overload
Hero Modifiers: Extra Shields. Solar, Void, and Arc.
Galvanized: Increased combatant health and stun resistance.
Overcharge: Enhanced Shotgun and Kinetic Weapon damage when subclass matches an active Surge element.

Surge: Void and Arc

Expert Modifiers:

All previous modifiers.
Equipment Locked: Equipment changes are disabled once the mission begins.
Randomized Banes: Combatants receive random Banes.

Moon Activities - Earn progress on the Moon via bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors.
Popping Off - Destroy 150 combatant shields with matching elemental damage in Vanguard or Gambit playlists.
Instrumented Performance - Get 150 final blows with Special ammo in Gambit, Crucible, or Vanguard Ops. Bonus progress for Shotgun/Grenade Launcher final blows or Guardian defeats.
Momentum Crash - Defeat 50 Guardians in Momentum Control. Bonus progress with Zone Advantage.
