Get Your Pet

First things first, as soon as you launch Diablo 4 Season 7, head to the nearest town with a Wardrobe and interact with it to claim your pet. While pets don't participate in combat, they're invaluable for automatically collecting your gold and materials, saving you precious time that you can dedicate to combat and loot hunting.

Grab Your Mercenaries

If you own the Vessel of Hatred expansion, make your way to the Den and recruit a Mercenary. Solo players can have up to two Mercenaries, making both leveling and combat smoother. Additionally, building Rapport with them can unlock further rewards, enhancing your gameplay experience.

Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up

Begin on Normal difficulty and follow the new seasonal questline in Diablo 4 Season 7, marked by green leaf icons on your map. This questline will introduce you to the season's new mechanics, including Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and the new Witch powers. Although the questline itself is relatively short with a few puzzles, it primarily involves farming Favors in Headhunt zones. This approach is also the most efficient way to reach level 60. Keep tackling Headhunt zone bosses, collecting and turning in Favors, and simultaneously upgrading your Witch powers.

Unlock Your Class Power

A handy quality-of-life update means you no longer need to repeat class-specific priority quests if you've completed them on a previous character. However, you must log in with that character on the Eternal realm first. For example, if you're planning to play a Rogue in Season 7, log in with a previously created Rogue who has completed the priority quests. Then, log in with your new Season 7 Rogue, and your class power will unlock automatically once you reach the required level.

Headhunt Zones

While navigating the Headhunt zones, ensure you're completing the Whispers. Four Headhunt zones are active at any time, and you should target the smallest, most compact ones for higher enemy density, allowing for quicker mob farming and Whisper completion. Prioritize these two Whisper quests:

Fugitive: Requires recovering a head or destroying a husk, activated by defeating Elites and interacting with roots.
Shepherd: An easy task involving escorting animals across the map.

Upon collecting 10 Grim Favors, trade them at the Tree of Whispers for a cache. Note that a Raven of the Tree also appears in each Headhunt zone, allowing you to turn in Favors without returning to the Tree of Whispers.

Witchcraft Powers

At the Tree of Whispers, interact with the Altars of Witchcraft to buy and upgrade Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot, obtained by defeating new Rot enemies. While the initial purchase is affordable, upgrades can be costly. Focus on powers that provide direct damage boosts for substantial passive damage gains.

Additionally, some Witch powers are exclusive to Forgotten Altars, which you might encounter in regular dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds once you reach Torment 1 difficulty. Consuming a Draught of Whispers increases your chances of finding these altars.

Rootholds

Diablo 4 Season 7 introduces Rootholds, a new dungeon type accessible by consuming Whispering Wood, obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests. Rootholds operate like a rogue-lite mode, where you can activate negative modifiers that enhance loot quality. As you progress, open Exposed Roots for loot, with the modifiers influencing the number and quality of roots you find. It's advisable to save Roothold keys until you're at Torment 1, as they're the prime source of Ancestral loot this season.

Occult Gems

Late in the game, you can craft Occult Gems by speaking with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers. These gems, which you slot into your jewelry, outperform regular gems but are expensive to craft, requiring ample Restless Rot and Heads, which drop from Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones. Using a Draught of Whispers can boost your chances of obtaining Heads from bosses.

Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons

Incorporate Pits and Nightmare Dungeons into your routine. Nightmare Dungeons provide Glyphs, while Pits help level them up. Additionally, farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials essential for enhancing your Uniques.
