The DOOM franchise's adaptability continues to amaze, with recent experiments pushing the game's boundaries. A tech enthusiast, NyanSatan, successfully ran the classic DOOM on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter.
The adapter, as NyanSatan explains, utilizes iOS-based firmware and a processor clocked at up to 168 MHz. The process involved accessing the adapter's firmware and then executing the game. A MacBook was necessary for firmware transfer due to the adapter's lack of internal memory.
A new DOOM installment is in the works, focusing on accessibility. DOOM: The Dark Ages will allow players to significantly adjust the game's difficulty, including demon aggression. This focus on customization surpasses previous id Software titles.
Executive producer Marty Stratton highlights the game's accessibility features. Players can modify enemy damage, difficulty, projectile speed, enemy health, and other parameters such as game pace, aggression levels, and parry timing.
Stratton further clarifies that prior experience with DOOM: The Dark Ages isn't necessary to understand its narrative or that of DOOM: Eternal.
