Developer Dream Dock has unveiled Dreadmoor, a first-person single-player action-adventure game heavily inspired by the 2023 breakout hit Dredge. Set in a haunting, post-apocalyptic world known as the Drownlands, Dreadmoor invites players to take the helm of a fishing trawler and dive into a mysterious, submerged realm shaped by global catastrophe. Following a devastating nuclear war, the continents have collapsed into the sea, leaving behind a fragmented archipelago of isolated islands and sunken ruins of lost civilizations.
In Dreadmoor, your survival hinges on fishing, exploration, crafting, and combat. Venture into uncharted waters to catch over 100 species of fish—some of which lurk in the darkest depths and require the most unusual bait to reel in. The deeper you go, the greater the risk, but also the reward. Be mindful of your cargo hold; certain creatures may turn on each other if left unchecked.
Sell your haul to scattered survivors, complete quests, and gradually upgrade your trawler with new gear and capabilities. Explore both the surface and underwater environments, uncovering hidden locations and abandoned structures filled with secrets—and dangers. As night falls, the world grows more treacherous, revealing mutated creatures and eerie mysteries that lie beneath the waves.
Radiation poses a constant threat, intensifying the peril as you navigate the unforgiving waters. Craft tools, enhance your vessel, and prepare for the unknown lurking in the deep.
Dreadmoor is currently in development for PC. You can wishlist it on Steam now to stay updated. Check out the announcement trailer above and explore the first screenshots in the gallery below.
