It's always disappointing when a beloved feature is removed from your favorite pastime, whether it's in gaming, on the tabletop, or elsewhere. However, today marks a special occasion as a fan-favorite feature makes its triumphant return! Conflict of Nations: WW3 is bringing back the much-loved clan vs clan battles through Elite Challenges.
So, how do these Elite Challenges work? They are team-based battles where alliances can engage in epic wars of strategy against one another. But there's a twist: to participate, players must be at least rank 25, and the use of premium currency (gold) is strictly prohibited. This ensures a level playing field where skill and strategy reign supreme.
To celebrate the return of this feature, two challenge maps will be available: the Mediterranean and Antarctica. Elite Challenges set themselves apart from regular matches by providing participants with 2x starting resources, production, and access to the tech tree by day 10. This means larger armies and more diverse tech usage right from the start.
It's easy to understand why Elite Challenges were so beloved by the player base. However, as Dorado Games has noted, implementing this mode became challenging as their community grew. The absence of premium currency in these challenges, promoting a completely level playing field, is likely to be a welcome change for almost all players.
