Forza Horizon 5 Speeds Onto PlayStation 5: Release Date Confirmed!
Following last month's announcement, the highly anticipated arrival of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 now has a firm release date: April 25th for Premium Edition owners ($99.99), and April 29th for everyone else. This confirmation comes directly from an official website announcement, which also revealed a significant game update launching across all platforms on April 25th.
This update, dubbed "Horizon Realms," introduces four new vehicles, a redesigned racetrack at the Horizon Stadium, and a curated selection of fan-favorite environments from previous games.
As previously reported, the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5 will boast complete parity with the Xbox and PC editions. This means players can expect all previously released content, including Car Packs and both the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions.
Forza Horizon 5 joins Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as Xbox exclusives making the leap to PlayStation. Xbox's proactive approach to cross-platform releases for first-party titles is noteworthy, sparking industry conversations about the long-term viability of platform exclusivity, especially considering the escalating costs of game development and the potential sales limitations imposed by exclusive releases.
Having awarded Forza Horizon 5 a perfect 10/10 score upon its initial Xbox/PC release, IGN wholeheartedly recommends this title to PlayStation gamers. Our review hailed it as "the pinnacle of racing game development, and the best open-world racing game ever created."
