In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, armor is a crucial part of any Operator's arsenal. To upgrade beyond the standard Tier 3 armor, players can unlock the powerful Gold Armor Vest via a challenging Easter egg on The Tomb map. This guide details how to acquire this valuable upgrade.
What Does Gold Armor Do in Black Ops 6 Zombies?
First introduced in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, Gold Armor addresses the frustration of constantly replenishing armor plates. This upgraded armor automatically repairs itself over time, even without plates in your inventory. This feature significantly improves resource management and ensures you’re always protected from powerful enemies like Amalgams, preventing one-hit downs. While you can still manually plate up, the self-repairing aspect is a game-changer.

How To Get Gold Armor on The Tomb in Black Ops 6 Zombies
Here’s the step-by-step process for obtaining the Gold Armor Vest:
- Acquire two statue heads from the Dark Aether Nexus: These are found inside destructible wooden boxes. Melee the boxes to reveal the heads.
- Place the statue heads on the ruined statues in the Dig Site: Interact with the statues to repair them.
- Activate and survive two "Blood Sacrifices": This involves eliminating waves of powerful HVT enemies (Shock Mimics and Doppelghasts).
- Purchase the Gold Armor Vest in the Roman Mausoleum: After completing the Blood Sacrifices, the vest will be available as a free Wall Buy.

Both statue heads are located within the Dark Aether Nexus, inside destructible wooden boxes. The first is near a palm tree in a corner of the Nexus, close to the green Gateway portal. The second is easily found near the Juggernog Perk Machine, on the same raised platform.

Once you have both heads, go to the Dig Site. Place one head on the statue near the Ammo Cache, and the other on the statue near the Roman Mausoleum (where the Pack-a-Punch machine spawns).
How To Survive the Blood Sacrifice in Black Ops 6 Zombies
The Blood Sacrifice spawns multiple HVT enemies (at least three in solo, more in co-op). You'll be at 1 HP, but damage goes to your armor. Use a Tier 3 vest and plenty of plates. In solo, using a Mutant Injection to become a Mangler can make this much easier. In co-op, utilize a Chopper Gunner to eliminate the HVTs from a distance.
After completing both Blood Sacrifices, the Gold Armor Vest will be available for purchase in the Roman Mausoleum.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
