In *Path of Exile 2*, players will encounter a unique type of quest item during Act 3 known as Golden Idols. Unlike typical quest items, these do not trigger a quest in your log upon pickup. Instead, they serve as high-value items that can be sold for gold. There are five Golden Idols to collect, and they can significantly boost your in-game currency.
How to Collect Golden Idols in Path of Exile 2
To start your hunt for Golden Idols, you must progress through Act 3 until you reach the Ziggurat Encampment. From here, delve into the ruins of the Vaal civilization, and use a portal to travel back in time to Utzaal, known as The Drowned City in the present. This ancient city showcases the Vaal at their peak, but keep your focus on finding the Golden Idols scattered throughout.
You can find these idols in Utzaal and the connected area, Aggorat. Specifically, you'll discover three idols in Utzaal and two in Aggorat. They appear on the ground or on pedestals, often tucked away in side rooms. Here's where you can find each type:
- Golden Idols in **Utzaal**:
Glorious Idol
Golden Idol
Grand Idol
- Golden Idols in **Aggorat**:
Exceptional Idol
Elegant Idol
What to Do with Golden Idols in PoE 2
Once you've collected a Golden Idol, return to the Ziggurat Encampment. Head to the north side of the area and speak with Oswald. He's the vendor who will accept these idols in exchange for gold. Each idol has a different value:
- **Golden Idol**: 500 Gold
- **Grand Idol**: 1000 Gold
- **Glorious Idol**: 1500 Gold
- **Elegant Idol**: 1000 Gold
- **Exceptional Idol**: 1500 Gold
If you manage to collect all five idols during your exploration of Utzaal and Aggorat, you'll amass a total of 6000 Gold. Since these idols take up inventory space and their only purpose is to be sold, it's wise to return to the encampment after finding them to sell and free up your bag space.
