- Grand Saga will cease operations on April 30th.
- In-app purchases have been deactivated.
- Players may request refunds for recent purchases.
NPIXEL has confirmed the official shutdown of Gran Saga, ending its brief international service. The developers stated that all services will terminate on April 30, 2025, with in-app purchases and downloads already suspended.
Although Gran Saga launched successfully in Japan back in 2021, its global release only arrived in November 2024—meaning it survived barely six months before the decision to end service was made.
The closure appears to result from financial instability and difficulties sustaining operations. Despite a strong initial impression, the game failed to establish a foothold in the competitive global market.
The genre is dominated by well-established titles with loyal player communities, making it hard for newcomers to succeed without offering something truly innovative. Despite its early performance in Japan, that success did not translate internationally, prompting an early shutdown.

This closure is part of a growing trend of gacha RPGs ending service. Last month, we covered the shutdown of My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero, which was far from the only title affected. Multiple games have folded due to market oversaturation. With so many choices available, players tend to remain loyal to familiar games, leaving little room for new or niche titles to thrive.
Players who made recent purchases can submit refund requests until May 30th. However, refunds may not be available if the purchased items were already used or due to specific platform policies.
If you were one of the adventurers exploring Ethprozen, this marks a disappointing farewell—yet it's an outcome becoming increasingly common across the mobile landscape.
