In a recent interview with YouTube channel GTAVIoclock, former Rockstar Games developer Ben Hinchliffe shared his perspective on the upcoming GTA 6. Hinchliffe, a veteran who contributed to several Rockstar titles including GTA 6, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and L.A. Noire, offered a sneak peek into the game's development.Hinchliffe revealed his access to significant portions of the game's content and storyline, expressing his enthusiasm for its evolution. He emphasized the considerable changes and improvements made since he departed the company, highlighting his confidence in the final product.
Rockstar Games unveiled the official GTA 6 trailer last year, showcasing the protagonists, the Vice City setting, and elements of the crime-filled adventure. Set for an autumn 2025 release exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, details have been scarce. However, Hinchliffe confirmed GTA 6 represents a significant leap forward for Rockstar.
He pointed out the consistent evolution in Rockstar's games, emphasizing the increased realism in character behavior and interactions across the series. He confidently stated that GTA 6 "raises the bar again," setting a new benchmark for the studio.
Given the three years since Hinchliffe's departure, GTA 6 has undoubtedly undergone extensive refinement and performance optimization. Hinchliffe suggests Rockstar is likely focused on bug fixing and addressing any remaining development challenges.
Regarding fan reaction, Hinchliffe predicted an enthusiastic reception, emphasizing the game's stunning realism: "It will blow people away. It will sell an absolute ton as it always does." He expressed his excitement for players to finally experience the game.
