The Herta isn't a new face to Honkai: Star Rail players. Many anticipated her arrival, especially given the prevalence of Herta puppets in team compositions since the game's launch. Unlike some characters, The Herta maintains the same path and element as her 4-star counterpart, but her gameplay is significantly different. Her kit centers around accumulating Interpretation stacks, gained whenever an ally attacks enemies, to massively boost her damage.

To maximize her potential, build a team with allies who frequently use AoE attacks, especially those with follow-up attacks, for efficient stack generation.

Her unique ability, Message From Beyond the Veil, grants all allies 80% increased Crit DMG if another Erudition character is present. This makes her ideal for duo DPS compositions. Below are some top pairings to leverage her playstyle.

Best Premium Team Composition

This team—Jade, Robin, and Lingsha alongside The Herta—is exceptionally strong. Each member complements her kit. Jade, her ideal Erudition partner, frequently triggers follow-up attacks, synergizing perfectly with The Herta's stacking mechanic. This is especially beneficial when The Herta is the Debt Collector, rapidly triggering Jade's follow-ups.

Lingsha provides crucial sustain, maintaining high HP for allies—vital since The Herta's HP is periodically drained as the Debt Collector. She also performs AoE follow-up attacks, boosting stack generation. Aventurine is a strong alternative, but his bouncing attack may be less consistent than Lingsha's AoE. Huo Huo or Fu Xuan offer support but less frequent attacking.

Remembrance Trailblazer is excellent, especially in Ice DPS content. Mem deals True DMG and buffs Crit DMG. Pela is a solid substitute, debuffing enemies while being SP-positive and using AoE attacks. Tingyun provides buffs but lacks AoE capabilities.

Gallagher is a flexible option, offering SP-positive play and AoE Ultimate. The final spot depends on available healers or sustain options.
