Mastering Mounts in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's expansive world can feel overwhelming initially. Efficient traversal is key, and that often means acquiring a horse. Here's how to get one:
Reclaiming Your Horse
You can actually retrieve your starting horse, Pebbles! Travel to Semine in the south and speak with the horse trader. However, he won't simply hand her over. You can either pay him Groschen, or attempt to persuade or intimidate him. Success with persuasion may depend on your character's appearance and reputation. In one playthrough, a more noble-looking Henry successfully persuaded the trader without payment, though at a slight reputational cost.
The Art of Horse Theft
Alternatively, you can acquire a horse through less scrupulous means. Wild horses are rare. Instead, target farms or stables. One effective strategy involves Vidlak Pond in the west. A nearby farmhouse belonging to fishermen houses two horses, ripe for the taking.
Once you've secured a horse, consider visiting the Nomads' Camp east of Vidlak Pond. The horse trainer there can teach you how to saddle and tame your newly acquired steed, though this service comes at a price. You can, however, ride the horse untamed if you prefer.
