Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a missed opportunity: Resistance 4. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price, retiring after 30 years at the studio, disclosed that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately shelved due to "timing and market opportunity."
Despite this, Price expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting its unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, debuted on the PlayStation 3. Following its conclusion, Insomniac shifted focus to projects like the Marvel's Spider-Man franchise and new Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year paved the way for Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang to take the reins as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's recent releases include the PC port of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next project.
