Insomniac Games Remains Tight-Lipped on Marvel's Wolverine Release Date
Insomniac Games recently shared its future plans, but remained silent on the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine. While co-head Chad Dezern acknowledged the studio's ambitious roadmap and new projects, he confirmed that details regarding Marvel's Wolverine's release remain under wraps. A 2025 release window remains unconfirmed. "We have a lot of pent-up excitement, but we need to hold onto it for now," Dezern stated in a Variety interview.
Marvel's Wolverine: A Look Back and Forward
Initially unveiled at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase with a cinematic trailer, Marvel's Wolverine is slated for PlayStation 5. In a 2023 interview with Kinda Funny, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed the game's shared universe with Marvel's Spider-Man, mentioning the shared universe designation "1048." While fans anticipated crossovers, only a Wolverine-themed suit ("The Best There Is") in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has materialized so far. A ransomware attack in December 2023 briefly exposed some of the game's development assets.
Insomniac Games' Current Landscape
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is launching on PC January 30, 2025, as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025. Insomniac has clarified that no further DLC is planned for the title, though the PC version will include all post-release updates, including new suits and New Game+. Standard and Digital Deluxe editions will be available.
