After conquering Fire Canyon's intense Zoomer level, *Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy* offers a breather with Precursor Basin—a seemingly less perilous, yet arguably more challenging, vehicle-based level. While less deadly, completing all of Precursor Basin's objectives requires true Zoomer mastery.

Precursor Basin presents diverse driving challenges, from record-breaking races to intricate ring navigation and eco-based gardening. Aspiring trophy hunters must master the Zoomer to collect every item within this expansive area.

Herd the Moles into Their Holes

Begin with a straightforward task: guiding lost moles back to their burrows. Simply use the Zoomer to nudge them towards their homes. Utilize the Zoomer's hop for sharp turns, keeping pace with the fleeing moles. Herding four moles rewards you with a Power Cell from the Geologist in Rock Village. However, consider completing other objectives in this area before departing.

Catch the Flying Lurkers

These elusive creatures, found near the moles, require a chase and a well-timed ram with the Zoomer. They follow unpredictable paths, so anticipate their turns to effectively intercept them. The final Lurker drops another Power Cell.

Beat Record Time on the Gorge

The Gambler in Rock Village needs your help beating the 45-second Gorge record. This short but tricky course is near Precursor Basin's entrance (hug the right wall to find it).

Mastering this course involves utilizing Lurkers for extra height, strategically grabbing Blue Eco for speed boosts, and skillfully avoiding Dark Eco Crates. Precise hop-turns and careful navigation through moving Pistons are crucial. Beating the record earns a Power Cell; a time under 40 seconds unlocks a trophy.

Get the Power Cell Over the Lake

This Power Cell requires precise driving and timing. Starting from the slope (shown in image 1, familiar from the Lurker chase), navigate the narrow bridge, utilizing hops to cross gaps between islands (Images 2-5). A final hop from the elevated position leads to the Power Cell.

Cure the Dark Eco Infected Plants

A welcome change of pace, this involves using Green Eco to cleanse the purple plants. Quick and careful driving is essential, as plants regrow if you take too long. Efficient use of hops and Green Eco vents is key to a successful cure, rewarding you with a Power Cell.

Navigate the Purple Precursor Rings

This challenge involves a race against time to pass through a series of appearing rings. The trickiest parts involve timed hops off elevated surfaces to reach airborne rings. Completing this course earns a Power Cell.

Navigate the Blue Precursor Rings

The Blue Precursor Rings present a significantly harder challenge. This course begins near the lake, requiring precise driving and timed hops, especially over the lake itself. Careful navigation through narrow paths and strategic use of the Zoomer's hop are vital for success, leading to another Power Cell.

Free the 7 Scout Flies
