The final decision in Avowed's "Heart of Valor" quest presents a difficult choice for Keipo and his precious Leviathan Heart. After Chiko discovers Keipo's uncle plans to use the heart for suicide, and Keipo reveals his involvement with the Dreamscourge and a past lie concealing his partner Umpara's death, your choices have significant consequences.

We recommend not giving Keipo the Leviathan Heart. This path unlocks all possible loot without sacrificing Thirdborn's hope by exposing Keipo's secret. This requires reading Keipo's Weathered Journal (found by activating a button on a curved stone structure near the Leviathan Heart).

You also retain the Leviathan Heart as a unique trinket (+20% Attack Damage, at the cost of slow health drain). To receive this armor, when Chiko says "I'm sorry my uncle is sick...", choose: "Uh…about that. He’s not just sick. It’s the Dreamscourge.", "He wanted to die before he turned. He was trying to keep you safe.", and "There is one way. We just stopped him from doing it." Choosing incorrectly angers Chiko, preventing you from getting the armor.

How To Get All the Loot in Heart of Valor

To obtain all rewards (Leviathan Heart, Umpara's Spear, and the Stormdancer set) without revealing Keipo's secret, use this dialogue order:

Talking to Keipo:

"We need to talk. Now.", "Come clean. Chiko told me you want to end your life.", "We wouldn’t be having this conversation if you had the Dreamscourge.", "I’m sorry. I can’t give you the heart.", "I respect your choice. But I can’t be a part of it.", "Listen. I…I know what happened to Umpara.", "And? Why didn’t you tell the truth?", "That’s why you really trapped the ruins. So no one would find out.", "No. The truth would do more harm than good." (Note: Discussing Umpara first prevents getting Umpara's Spear).

Talking to Chiko:

"Don’t worry. It’s right here with me.", "He wanted to take his own life with it. Chiko stepped in to prevent that.", "Let me hold onto it. I’ll take it far away and keep it safe.", "[Lie] No, that was all.", "Uh…about that. He’s not just sick. It’s the Dreamscourge.", "He wanted to die before he turned. Revealing Keipo's secret to Tira Nui Hajime and Thirdborn results in a less hopeful outcome and loss of the Leviathan Heart. Following the above dialogue yields all gear while maintaining a positive outcome.
