Let the demon hunting begin. Netflix is bringing the iconic video game franchise Devil May Cry to life with a new anime series, and we've just been treated to a thrilling trailer. But the excitement doesn't stop there; the legendary late voice actor Kevin Conroy will posthumously star in this game adaptation, adding a special touch to the series.
Conroy, celebrated for voicing Bruce Wayne and Batman in numerous animated films and TV shows, takes on the role of VP Baines, a new character introduced in the series. His voice can be heard at the beginning of the trailer, giving fans another chance to experience his remarkable talent following his passing in November 2022 at the age of 66. Conroy's recent posthumous performance in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3 was highly praised, making his inclusion in Devil May Cry even more meaningful.
Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch lending his voice to the series' protagonist, Dante.According to the official synopsis from Netflix, "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."

The series is being helmed by producer Adi Shankar, who will serve as showrunner. Shankar is known for his work as executive producer on films like the 2012 Dredd reboot, Killing Them Softly, and The Voices. He's also attached to an upcoming Assassin's Creed adaptation, though its release remains uncertain after being announced in 2017.
Studio Mir, the renowned South Korean studio behind hits like The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97, will handle the production. Devil May Cry is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025, promising fans an exhilarating journey into the world of demon hunting.
