Assassin’s Creed Shadows Ramps Up Release
One Piece Actor Mackenyu Arata Joins Assassin’s Creed Shadows as Gennojo
Mackenyu is set to voice Gennojo in both Japanese and English versions of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft’s latest foray into the rich historical setting of Feudal Japan. Gennojo is described as a crucial figure who assists the game's protagonist in tracking and eliminating a vital target.
Ubisoft has painted Gennojo as a multifaceted character—a charming yet reckless individual driven by guilt to dismantle a corrupt system. "Gennojo is a flirtatious rogue and a trickster, always walking the line with a mix of wit, deceit, and swagger," Ubisoft shared. "Motivated by a deep desire to bring down a corrupt system, Gennojo is willing to risk everything, even his own life, to achieve his goal. Despite his rough exterior, he holds a strong sense of justice, especially when it comes to helping the poor and elderly."While the exact timing of Gennojo's introduction in the game remains undisclosed, it's clear that he will play a significant role in the narrative. Mackenyu has revealed that Gennojo is part of a mysterious group known as the "Shinobi League." Players will have the opportunity to recruit Gennojo, making him a valuable companion throughout their journey in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
