Mattel163 Drops Colourblind-Friendly Update ‘Beyond Colors’ In Skip-Bo Mobile, UNO! Mobile And Phase 10: World Tour

Mattel163 is enhancing inclusivity in its popular mobile card games with a groundbreaking update: Beyond Colors. This feature makes UNO! Mobile, Phase 10: World Tour, and Skip-Bo Mobile more accessible to the estimated 300 million people worldwide affected by color blindness.

What is Beyond Colors?

Beyond Colors replaces traditional color-coded cards with distinct shapes (squares, triangles, etc.), ensuring clear differentiation for all players. This thoughtful design addresses a significant accessibility challenge.

Activating Beyond Colors:

Enabling Beyond Colors is simple. In each game (UNO! Mobile, Phase 10: World Tour, and Skip-Bo Mobile), tap your avatar, go to account settings, and select the Beyond Colors deck under card theme options.

Collaboration and Accessibility:

Mattel163 collaborated with colorblind gamers to ensure the new symbols are effective and intuitive. This initiative reflects Mattel's broader commitment to accessibility, with a goal of making 80% of its games colorblind-accessible by 2025. The development involved color vision deficiency experts and the global gaming community, exploring solutions beyond color-based identification, including patterns and symbols.

Consistent Design:

The shapes used in Beyond Colors are consistent across all three games, providing a seamless experience for players. Master the symbols in one game, and you're ready for the others. Download UNO! Mobile, Phase 10: World Tour, and Skip-Bo Mobile from the Google Play Store today.
