If you've been keeping an eye on the latest global game releases, there's another title you might find intriguing but, unfortunately, it's not available everywhere just yet. Medabot Survivors is set to launch on February 10th, bringing the beloved robot role-playing franchise back to mobile devices. However, it's currently exclusive to Japan, much to the disappointment of fans worldwide.
As reported by Gematsu, Medabots might ring a bell for those of us who grew up during the post-Pokémon craze. In an effort to capitalize on the success of Pokémon, numerous Japanese franchises with merchandising potential were introduced to the West. While Digimon gained significant popularity, and some argue it even surpassed Pokémon, Medabots never quite made the same impact outside Japan.
In its home country, however, Medabots has been a major success story. Although not a global phenomenon, it enjoys a strong following in Japan. It's no surprise then that the franchise is venturing into the Survivors-like genre, which has been gaining traction worldwide. Unfortunately, for now, Medabot Survivors remains a Japan-only release, leaving fans elsewhere eagerly waiting.
**Surviving the Survivors**
While Medabot Survivors falls into the Survivors-like genre, it's worth noting that this style of gameplay predates the popular title Vampire Survivors. The release of Medabot Survivors is not only exciting for fans of the franchise but also a testament to the growing popularity of this genre worldwide.
Having some insight into the gaming scene in Japan, I can confirm there are many excellent releases that may never see the light of day outside the country. However, if Medabot Survivors proves to be a hit, there's hope that it might eventually make its way to international markets.
