The wait is finally over! Konami's highly anticipated remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, will launch on August 28th, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This confirmation comes via a release date trailer spotted on GameSpot's YouTube channel and the PlayStation Store, showcasing the game's enhanced visuals.
While Konami hasn't yet officially shared the trailer on their social media, the news brings much-needed reassurance to fans after a near two-year wait. Initially slated for a 2024 release following its announcement at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023, subsequent trailers at the Xbox Games Showcase and Tokyo Game Show focused on gameplay.
According to Metal Gear X (formerly Twitter), the remake will stay true to the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, preserving gameplay and original voice acting – a key element reflected in the "Delta" designation. The official account explained that "Delta" signifies "change or difference without changing structure."
Bonus Content: A Primate Surprise!
The trailer reveals a surprising addition: a crossover with the Ape Escape franchise! A glimpse of one of the iconic apes teases a potential "Snake vs. Monkey" mode, although details remain scarce. The trailer ends cryptically with "And more...", hinting at further collaborations.
