Microsoft Unveils Robust Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 Lineup

Microsoft's Xbox Wire recently announced a significant wave of new titles joining the Xbox Game Pass subscription service in January 2025. This announcement precedes Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct on January 23rd, which will showcase several day-one Game Pass releases, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a yet-to-be-revealed fourth title.

The January 2025 Wave 2 begins January 21st with the day-one release of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. This snowy sequel to Lonely Mountains: Downhill features up to eight-player cross-platform multiplayer.

A flurry of additions arrives on January 22nd:

• Flock (Console) joins Game Pass Standard, offering cooperative multiplayer flight and creature collection.
• Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) launches on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, providing a 5v5 MOBA hero shooter experience.
• Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console), a Japanese-inspired single-player action strategy game, becomes available on Game Pass Standard.
• Magical Delicacy (Console) and The Case of the Golden Idol (Console) also debut on Game Pass Standard.
• Tchia (Xbox Series X|S) joins Game Pass Standard.
• Starbound (Cloud and Console) arrives on Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard, following its PC Game Pass release.

January 28th sees the day-one arrival of:

• Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a fantasy action-adventure title from Yellow Brick Games.
• Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a third-person shooter and trap defense game.

Shady Part of Me (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on January 29th across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard.

A day-one release of Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC) is slated for January 30th on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), the highly anticipated sequel to the 2022 RPG, will be a day-one release on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on January 31st.

Finally, Far Cry New Dawn (Cloud, Console, and PC) concludes the wave, joining Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on February 4th.
