Netflix is releasing a retro-futuristic puzzle game, The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, to coincide with the upcoming sci-fi adventure film, The Electric State. Launching March 18th, just days after the film's March 14th premiere, the game serves as a prequel, exploring the childhoods of key characters Chris and Michelle, played by Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown respectively, in the film directed by the Russo brothers.
This isn't a simple movie adaptation; The Electric State: Kid Cosmo offers a unique "game-within-a-game" experience. Developed by BUCK Games (creators of the popular Steam title Let's! Revolution!), in collaboration with AGBO, the game promises solid gameplay.
Imagine a WarioWare-esque adventure, but with a distinct 80s aesthetic. Set in Wichita, Kansas, 1985, the story unfolds over five years, revealing the journey of Chris and Michelle before the events of the film. Players will collect modules, repair Kid Cosmo's ship, and solve puzzles to uncover the secrets of this strange world.
The Electric State: Kid Cosmo continues Netflix's trend of releasing interactive spin-off games. Following the success of titles like Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales, Too Hot to Handle, Money Heist: Ultimate Choice, and Squid Game: Unleashed, this new addition expands their growing gaming catalogue.
