Nintendo Confirms 60-Minute Switch 2 Direct

The upcoming Nintendo Direct for the Switch 2 is set to be an extensive showcase, lasting approximately 60 minutes. This duration hints at a packed presentation filled with exciting announcements and detailed insights into the much-anticipated console.

Mark your calendars for the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct, which is scheduled to start on April 2, 2025, at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST. Nintendo has promised to offer a "closer look" at the Switch 2, building on the brief glimpse we got during its earlier reveal. That initial teaser showcased the console's form factor, hinted at the possibility of Mario Kart 9, and introduced a new 'mouse' mode for the Joy-Con controllers.

We're eagerly anticipating the full reveal of the Switch 2's launch lineup of games, along with a concrete release date, which is expected to fall sometime between June and September 2025. There's also hope that Nintendo will disclose the Switch 2's price, which analysts have speculated might be around $400.

As for the gaming prospects, a variety of third-party titles are rumored to be in development for the Switch 2. In an interview with IGN, Civilization 7 developer Firaxis expressed intrigue about the Joy-Con's mouse mode. Nintendo has also scheduled a Nintendo Treehouse: Live | Nintendo Switch 2 presentation, where hands-on gameplay of Switch 2 games will be showcased on April 3 and April 4 at 7am PT each day.
