Orna: Eco-Friendly RPG Raises Awareness

Orna, the fantasy RPG and GPS MMO by Northern Forge Studios, is launching Terra's Legacy, a unique in-game event tackling real-world environmental pollution. Running from September 9th to 19th, this event merges virtual gameplay with real-world action.

Combating Pollution: In-Game and Out

Terra's Legacy challenges players to identify and report polluted locations within their real-world surroundings via the Orna app. Northern Forge will then transform these reported areas into in-game "Gloomsites," representing the impact of pollution on our planet.

Players battle the Murk, pollution-themed enemies inhabiting these Gloomsites, contributing to raising awareness about environmental issues. Defeating the Murk allows players to plant virtual trees and grow Gaia apples in the corresponding real-world polluted locations. These Gaia apples can then be used to customize characters and enhance their magical abilities, with the added benefit of being harvestable by other players. Increased player participation translates to a cleaner virtual and real world.

Part of the Green Game Jam 2024

Terra's Legacy is Orna's contribution to the Green Game Jam 2024, an annual event uniting game developers worldwide to promote environmental awareness through interactive experiences.
