People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has entered into a significant partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment. The agreement involves the creation of a new game, codenamed Project Delta, which will be developed as a work-for-hire project. Details about Project Delta remain under wraps, but the collaboration marks another exciting venture for the studio.
Currently, People Can Fly is juggling an impressive lineup of projects, each with its own codename. Alongside Project Delta, they are working on Project Gemini in collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 developers laid off last year. They're also developing Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red, which appears to be another project with Sony, and the VR-focused Project Bison, recently announced as their last venture into virtual reality.
The studio faced some setbacks recently, with the suspension of Project Victoria last December and the scaling down of Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they had to cancel Project Dagger, which was set to be an action-adventure game in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these challenges, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini with Square Enix is slated for a 2026 release, keeping fans on the edge of their seats for more updates on these exciting titles.
