While there's no official confirmation of a Persona 4 remake, we already know at least three original English voice actors won't be returning if it happens.
This week, Yuri Lowenthal, the voice of Yosuke Hanamura, stated on BlueSky he would not reprise his role for the rumored remake. He clarified in a since-deleted post: "And for those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake. I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back."
Two other actors have since echoed this sentiment. Erin Fitzgerald, the English voice of Chie Satonaka, stated she had not been asked back. Amanda Winn Lee, the voice of Yukiko Amagi, also confirmed she was not approached for the role.
Since, I've had several people ask me: No, I wasn't asked to voice Yukiko in the P4 remake

These announcements have fueled speculation among fans that a remake announcement is imminent, building on rumors and a recent domain registration over the past year.
If a remake is real, the reason for not recalling the beloved original cast remains unclear. Possibilities include the ongoing SAG-AFTRA voice actor strike or a studio decision by Atlus, similar to the recasting for Persona 3 Reload, which also involved Lowenthal.
Some fans propose a more elaborate theory: this could be an orchestrated marketing stunt. Observant fans on Twitter/X noted the announcements followed the exact order you recruit these characters in the game: Yosuke, Chie, then Yukiko.
This is definitely a marketing stunt

First Yosuke
Then Chie
Now Yukiko
They're talking in order of who joins the party in p4. They're definitely in P4 remake. https://t.co/GesYoNva4O
Some speculate that if the voice actors for Kanji Tatsumi—Troy Baker or Matt Mercer—make a similar announcement next, it would "confirm" the stunt. A wilder idea suggests the original actors might actually voice the "Shadow" versions of their characters, making their statements technically true. Most fans, however, find this theory far-fetched, believing a simple recast is more likely.
With so many rumors circulating, fans hope for an official announcement soon to clarify everything, possibly at an upcoming event like Summer Game Fest or the Xbox showcase.
