This marks the first public acknowledgement of the issue, following weeks of fan complaints on social media regarding difficulty obtaining the set, slated for international release on January 17, 2025. The initial announcement for Prismatic Evolutions was made in early November 2024, with pre-orders opening shortly after.

In a statement to IGN, a company representative confirmed the shortages, stating that they are working at maximum capacity to produce more cards to meet the high demand. While many fans have attributed the shortages to scalping, the Pokémon Company's statement simply cites "high demand" as the cause.

Pokémon TCG: Prismatic Evolutions Reprints Imminent

Reprints of Prismatic Evolutions are currently underway and will be distributed to licensed distributors as quickly as possible. While a specific release date for these reprints wasn't provided, the company assures fans that they are actively working to resolve the supply issues.

Players can also obtain Prismatic Evolutions cards starting January 16, 2025, through the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game's Battle Pass.
