Several retailers offer RTX 5090/5080 options in their built-to-order systems: iBuyPower, Origin PC, Maingear, Starforge Systems, NZXT, and Digital Storm. Note that these systems are generally expensive.

Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo Prebuilt PCs Coming Later

Expect the major OEMs to release their RTX 50-series equipped systems later in the year. Dell showcased the Alienware Area 51 at CES 2025 (likely with the new GPUs), with a potential Q1 launch. HP may offer RTX 5090/5080 options for the Omen 45L in mid-to-late February. Lenovo has yet to announce a launch date for its Legion Tower systems.

The Nvidia 50-series GPUs, announced at CES 2025, emphasize improved AI features over raw rasterization performance. DLSS 4 aims to quadruple frame rates with minimal visual loss. While offering a modest performance boost, opinions on their value compared to the RTX 40-series are mixed.

In our RTX 5090 FE review, Jackie Thomas notes a performance increase over the RTX 4090, but a smaller generational leap than previous generations. DLSS 4 provides significant gains in supported games. Our RTX 5080 FE review echoes similar sentiments; offering less of a performance jump over the RTX 4080, but significant gains for users upgrading from older cards, especially when using DLSS 4.
