Roblox's Rivals Update 9: Gunblade, Bridge Map, and a Promise of Ranked

The popular Roblox first-person shooter PvP experience, Rivals, has dropped Update 9, introducing the exciting Gunblade weapon and a new map, Bridge. Developer Nosniy Games highlighted these additions in the patch notes, alongside a few minor tweaks. While a smaller update than some recent releases, it still offers plenty for players to explore.

The Gunblade, a versatile combination rifle and blade, is a natural fit for Rivals' intense FPS gameplay. Its dual functionality – ranged attacks and close-quarters melee – allows for unexpected combat strategies. The new Bridge map, a Seoul-based arena created by @GreatGuyBoom, enhances this strategic element. Its close-quarters design, featuring limited cover, promises fast-paced, intense battles.

This update notably omits major bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements. Nosniy Games explained this decision, prioritizing the new content. However, minor skin modifications for the Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi, along with renaming some weapons (Hexxed to Vexed), were included. The developers assure players that more substantial changes, including the highly anticipated Ranked mode, will arrive in the next major update.

"We value your feedback and guarantee all necessary improvements will be implemented in time for Ranked," the team stated.

• Minor modifications to Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi skins.
• Renamed Hexxed Flare Gun, Hexxed Candle, and Hexxed wrap to Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, and Vexed, respectively.
