Roblox has launched The Takeover, a platform-wide event first announced at the Roblox Developers Conference 2025. Designed to be more competitive and community-led, the event began on September 12 and continues until September 22, 2025.
What does The Takeover offer in Roblox?
The Takeover drops you into a central Clubhouse where you can choose one of four themed districts: Strat University, Adrenaline Heights, Artists Alley, and Competition Park. Each district is split into four zones, and every zone has three games with varying difficulty levels.
You can play solo or join a crew. The main objective is to capture and hold zones against rival players. According to the Roblox team, The Takeover is largely an experiment in cooperative competition.
Across the event, 48 games from multiple genres are available. These include survival titles like Pressure by Urbanshade: Hadal Division, sports experiences like Tennis: Zero by Current x Blackstar,
strategy entries such as SpongeBob Tower Defense by Krabby Krew, roleplay favorites like Dress to Impress by Dress to Impress Group, and obby challenges like Barry’s Prison Run by PlatinumFalls.

How does progression work?
You progress in The Takeover by completing challenges, which earn you in-game creds used to unlock avatar items. You can earn extra creds by being the first to finish a challenge, playing with a crew, completing daily quests, or taking part during double creds events.
Roblox describes The Takeover as a celebration of creator creativity. It's also an opportunity for players to explore and try new types of games.
If you enjoy Roblox, be sure to check out this new event. If you haven't tried Roblox yet, you can download it from the Google Play Store.
