Exciting news has emerged from the galaxy far, far away, as Shawn Levy, the director behind Deadpool & Wolverine, is reportedly in negotiations to bring Ryan Gosling into his upcoming Star Wars movie. Since 2022, Levy has been meticulously crafting this new addition to the Star Wars saga, with script development kicking off last year. He's teaming up once again with the talented Jonathan Tropper, the writer behind This Is Where I Leave You and The Adam Project, both directed by Levy.
While plot details remain tightly under wraps, it's confirmed that this Star Wars venture will be a standalone film, steering clear of the iconic Skywalker Saga. The era and setting are still undisclosed, and there's no information yet on the character Ryan Gosling might portray. The involvement of Gosling, however, seems to be accelerating the project's timeline. Originally, Levy was slated to direct a boy band movie with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, but with Gosling potentially on board, the Star Wars film is poised to become Levy's next endeavor, with production slated to start this fall.
