The new year in Pokémon GO has brought a wave of new Pokémon for trainers to catch. Following Fidough's arrival, Shroodle is making its debut—but unlike many recent additions, acquiring it isn't as simple as a wild encounter.
Shroodle's Pokémon GO Arrival
The Poison-type Mouse Pokémon, Shroodle, enters Pokémon GO on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally introduced in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's a relatively new addition to the Pokémon world. Post-event, Shroodle will remain available.
Shiny Shroodle?
At launch, Shroodle will not have a Shiny variant in Pokémon GO. Its Shiny form will likely be introduced in a future event, possibly one focused on Poison-types or Team GO Rocket.
How to Catch Shroodle
12KM Eggs collected from 12 AM local time on January 15th onwards have a chance to yield Shroodle. Its hatch rate will likely be higher during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, but it should remain in the 12KM egg pool afterward.
Acquiring 12KM Eggs
Given Shroodle's exclusive hatching method, a reminder on obtaining 12KM Eggs is helpful. They are rare and acquired solely by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Taken Over event is ideal for stocking up on 12KM Eggs due to increased Team GO Rocket activity and easier Rocket Radar acquisition. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts at any time to challenge the Leaders and obtain an egg (provided you have inventory space).
Obtaining Grafaiai
Evolving requires 50 Shroodle Candy, necessitating hatching multiple Shroodle or using one as your buddy Pokémon.
