David Hayter, the iconic voice of Solid Snake, kicked off the Year of the Snake (in the Chinese zodiac) with a celebratory message, hinting at a big year for the legendary character. With the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake slated for release in 2025, the timing couldn't be more perfect.
A Serendipitous Alignment
Hayter's Bluesky post wasn't the only nod to this auspicious coincidence. Konami released a New Year's greeting video featuring a captivating Taiko drum performance and calligraphy showcasing the kanji for "snake," culminating in a bold "SNAKE YEAR" announcement. This clearly signifies a celebratory focus on both the zodiac sign and the legendary Solid Snake himself.
Since its May 2024 announcement, along with a trailer and Tokyo Game Show demo, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has been relatively quiet. However, producer Noriaki Okamura recently spoke to 4Gamer, highlighting their commitment to delivering a polished, high-quality remake in 2025 – a significant challenge they're tackling head-on.
The remake promises a next-generation experience, incorporating Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain mechanics, fresh voice work from the original cast, and additional dialogue. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is poised to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2025.
