New Characters and Maps in No Return Mode
No Return Mode is receiving a major content update with the addition of two new characters—Bill and Marlene from *The Last of Us Part I*. Each brings a unique playstyle designed to challenge both veteran and new players:
- Bill – A “Smuggler” who gains access to a custom pump shotgun via dead drops and receives double rewards from item drops. He’s stronger against melee attacks but cannot dodge.
- Marlene – A “Risk Taker” equipped with a custom assault rifle and special “All or Nothing” gambits. She can reroute her path once per run, offering more strategic flexibility.
Additionally, four brand-new maps are being added to No Return Mode:
- Overlook – Set high above Seattle, this map features vertical gameplay inspired by a Seraphites encounter from the main campaign.
- School – Based on the abandoned elementary school where Ellie and Dina faced off against the W.L.F.
- Streets – Located in the overgrown Hillcrest neighborhood of Seattle.
- Nest – A familiar Infected-infested building previously explored during Abby’s story arc.
This new No Return content—including additional Trophies and bug fixes—will be available day-and-date with the PC release through a free downloadable patch version 2.0.0.
PSN Sign-In Benefits
Aligning with Sony’s revised PlayStation Network policies, *The Last of Us Part II Remastered* on PC includes an optional PSN sign-in. Players who choose to log in gain access to the PlayStation overlay, PSN Trophies, and a bonus reward package featuring:
- 50 in-game points to activate bonus features
- An exclusive skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s upcoming title
*Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*
PS5 players will also be able to unlock this jacket skin via the same 2.0 update using in-game bonus points.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and The Last of Us Season 2 Tease
Earlier this month, *The Last of Us* director Neil Druckmann provided further insight into
"I joke about this with the team. We made a game, *The Last of Us 2*, we made certain creative decisions that got us a lot of hate. A lot of people love it, but a lot of people hate that game," Druckmann said. "But the joke is like, you know what, let's do something that people won't care as much about — let's make a game about faith and religion."
Set in an alternate historical timeline, *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet* follows protagonist Jordan A. Mun (voiced by Tati Gabrielle) and explores a deeply rooted religious system that has evolved over centuries.
Meanwhile, fans of HBO’s acclaimed series can look forward to Season 2, which Druckmann and co-showrunner Craig Mazin have confirmed will bring back spores—a controversial omission in Season 1. The stage is set for another gripping chapter in *The Last of Us* universe.
