Stardew Valley: A Comprehensive Guide to Crystalariums
While Stardew Valley emphasizes farming, profit generation extends beyond crops and livestock. Gemstones, valuable for crafting and gifting, offer significant income potential. However, consistently mining rare gemstones proves inefficient. The Crystalarium provides a solution, enabling mass production of gemstones and minerals. This guide details its acquisition and use, updated for Stardew Valley 1.6.
Acquiring a Crystalarium
Unlocking the Crystalarium crafting recipe requires reaching Mining Level 9. The crafting components include:
- 99 Stone: Easily obtained by breaking rocks on your farm or in the Mines.
- 5 Gold Bars: Smelt Gold Ore (found at mine levels 80 and below) using Coal in a Furnace.
- 2 Iridium Bars: Mine Iridium in Skull Cavern or obtain it daily from the Statue of Perfection (then smelt).
- 1 Battery Pack: Charge a Lightning Rod during a thunderstorm.
Alternative Acquisition Methods:
- Community Center Bundle: Completing the 25,000g bundle in the Community Center's Vault rewards a Crystalarium.
- Museum Donation: Donating at least 50 minerals (gemstones or geodes) to the Museum earns you one from Gunther.
Utilizing the Crystalarium
Place your Crystalarium anywhere – indoors or outdoors. The Quarry is a popular location for mass production.
The Crystalarium replicates any mineral or gemstone (except Prismatic Shards). Quartz has the shortest growth time but low value. Diamonds offer the highest profit, despite a 5-day production time.
To relocate a Crystalarium, use an axe or pickaxe. Any gem currently being replicated will drop. Changing the gem within a Crystalarium is simple: interact with it while holding the desired gemstone; the old gem will be ejected.
By strategically using Crystalariums, you'll significantly increase your profits and enhance your relationships with Pelican Town's residents.
