Nightdive Studios has unveiled a significant update for their modernized version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG classic. Initially titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, the game is now officially System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and is expanding its reach to the Nintendo Switch.
The System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon launch on a variety of platforms, including Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The official synopsis reads:
The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself suffering from amnesia amidst a catastrophic event. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots stalk the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel. SHODAN, a malevolent AI determined on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Your mission: stop her. Explore the derelict Von Braun, deck by deck, uncovering the horrifying fate of its crew and immersing yourself in a richly detailed narrative and environment.
Nightdive Studios promises a new trailer and the official release date will be revealed during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
