Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025, and congratulations on surviving another complete orbit around our fiery solar companion. As we kick off the new year, it's the perfect time to peek at the exciting game releases slated for 2025. Here's a rundown of the biggest titles we're eagerly anticipating!

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins
On January 17, Tecmo Koei's beloved musou series makes a grand return with Dynasty Warriors: Origins, marking its first major release since 2018. Harnessing the power of current-generation hardware, this game promises to flood your screen with hordes of enemies ready to be mowed down while you shout the iconic battle cry, "DIE, NASTY WARRIORS!" It'll be available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.

For those who enjoy taking down foes from a distance, Sniper Elite: Resistance launches on January 30, continuing the tradition of long-range, precision Nazi-targeting gameplay. This installment sticks closely to the tried-and-true formula of shooting enemies in sensitive areas, a feature that fans have come to love. It's available on all Xbox and PlayStation platforms, as well as PC.

February 2025

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? No, it's Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a sequel that picks up the story of Henry of Skalitz in 14th century Bohemia. This immersive historical RPG offers deep role-playing mechanics and a vast open world, allowing players to shape Henry's journey any way they choose. Launching on February 11 for current-gen consoles and PC, this game promises a rich and challenging experience.

On the same day, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 will challenge players to lead a civilization through the ages. With a legacy spanning over three decades, this iconic strategy game is available on nearly every platform, except mobile (though that may change later).

On February 14, Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes players to feudal Japan, fulfilling a long-standing fan request. With dual protagonists, you can choose to play as either a ninja or a samurai. This title is set to release on current-gen consoles and PC.

If you're looking for something unique on Valentine's Day, Date Everything! is a sandbox dating simulator where you can romance inanimate objects, from the floor to the walls. Fully voice-acted, this quirky game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds
Avowed by Obsidian hits Xbox Series consoles and PC on February 18. Set in the same universe as the Pillars of Eternity series but with a first-person perspective and real-time action combat, this RPG promises a concise yet engaging experience, similar in scope to The Outer Worlds.

For fans of swashbuckling adventures, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii sails onto Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on February 21. Follow Goro Majima as he embraces his new identity as a pirate after a bout of amnesia.

On February 28, Monster Hunter Wilds arrives on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Building on the success of Monster Hunter World, this installment aims to refine the core experience while introducing new features that leverage current hardware capabilities, appealing to both veterans and newcomers.

March 2025

Split Fiction
On March 6, Hazelight Studios, creators of It Takes Two and A Way Out, release Split Fiction. This co-op adventure follows a sci-fi and fantasy author trapped in virtual reality, leading to wild escapades, including turning into pigs and then hot dogs. One copy allows two players to enjoy the game online, available on PC and current-gen consoles.

Tales of the Shire offers a cozy life simulation set in the peaceful world of hobbits on March 25. Focus on gardening, smoking pipes, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life in the Shire, available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Atomfall
Atomfall, launching on March 27 for all platforms except Switch, invites players into a post-apocalyptic English countryside inspired by Fallout and Stalker. This survival-focused game explores an alternate history where a nuclear disaster has devastating consequences.

Also on March 27, The First Berserker: Khazan expands the Dungeon & Fighter universe with a single-player action RPG. This title will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

On March 28, inZOI aims to shake up the life simulation genre. This visually stunning game from South Korea launches on PC with console versions planned for later. With its innovative approach, it could be a strong contender against The Sims.

April 2025

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
April 24 sees the return of Fatal Fury with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, the first new entry in the mainline series since 1999. Featuring beloved characters like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, this fighting game is set to release on both PlayStation platforms, Xbox Series, and PC, promising to be worth the long wait.
